G. V. Chicherin House Museum
The house museum of a renowned diplomat Opened in 1987, the museum occupies a manor house from the first half of the 19th century and preserves an extensive collection of furniture and artifacts. Passing through the white, crimson, and green halls, you will learn about the diplomat’s life and discover how Tambov residents lived two centuries ago. The museum hosts musical evenings and interactive programs.

Transfiguration Cathedral
The oldest cathedral in Tambov Its history begins in the first half of the 17th century, when a wooden church was built here alongside a fortress. The stone church was erected later, in 1694. The bell tower was reconstructed in 2011 based on old photographs and measurements, and it was transformed from a three-tier structure into a four-tier one. In 2014, a monument to Saint Pitirim was installed here.

Museum of the Rachmaninov Family “Znamenskoye”
This is where the ancestors of the great Russian composer lived Under the Rachmaninov family, the estate became one of the cultural centers of the Tambov Governorate. The noble family created a symphony orchestra and a choral chapel at the estate. Concerts and musical evenings were held here regularly, and the estate possessed a vast library, a collection of sheet music, and a collection of paintings. The museum is located in the former zemstvo school building on the grounds of the estate and tells the story of this renowned family. Guided overview and themed tours are offered through the museum’s halls.

House-Museum of Artist A. M. Gerasimov
Stalin’s favorite artist, a friend of Marshal Voroshilov, and the first President of the Academy of Arts lived and worked in a small town manor in Michurinsk. At the museum you can see not only the paintings, but also the artist’s studio as well as the personal belongings of Alexander Mikhailovich.
