Academician Koptyug Avenue

Here you’ll find several interesting monuments On the boulevard, there is a monument to the Novosibirsk chemist Valentin Koptyug, depicted as if standing at a lectern in front of students. Nearby, there is a city sculpture of Academician Dmitry Belyaev, sitting on a bench with a domesticated fox. The scene is not accidental: scientists in Akademgorodok domesticated foxes. There is now a fox nursery here, which you can visit on a guided tour. On the other side of the building, there is a monument to a laboratory mouse. It holds knitting needles in its hands. If you look closely, you’ll see that it is knitting a strand of DNA. Another landmark and symbol of Akademgorodok are the two leaning towers. Locals call them "the geese." Between them is a passage with a glass floor. You can visit it on a guided tour by prior arrangement.
