About
The highest-altitude ski resort in Northwest Russia, featuring 30 km of slopes, night skiing, equipment rentals, and cozy cafés by the pistes. BigWood Ski Resort is the highest-altitude ski resort in Northwest Russia. It is located in the Khibiny Mountains, on the slopes of Mount Aikuaivenchorr, near the town of Kirovsk in the Murmansk Region. The resort offers 25 ski runs with a total length of approximately 30 km, modern lift systems, and well-developed winter infrastructure. Many of the slopes are equipped for night skiing, making it possible to enjoy the mountain even during the Arctic polar night. BigWood is traditionally one of the first ski resorts in Russia to open each season. Skiing begins in November and lasts for around 200 days, continuing until May or even June. One of the resort's unique features is its location within the town itself—visitors can walk from the center of Kirovsk to the ski slopes in just 10–15 minutes. Facilities include two equipment rental centers, a service center, ski lockers, panoramic cafés, a children's playroom, a spa hotel, and an outdoor activity center.
