Devil’s Finger Rock

A unique rock formation with panoramic views of the Katun River Valley 33 kilometers from Gorno-Altaysk, near the village of Katun, there is an unusual viewpoint that resembles a giant claw. The rock formation was created naturally over time, but there is also a local legend about its origin. According to the legend, a villain named Cherto once tormented the local people, and a brave warrior named Kuyum came to their aid. He fought Cherto throughout the night and eventually pushed him deep into the ground — only one finger remained sticking out. From Devil’s Finger Rock, visitors can enjoy picturesque views of the Katun River and Aya Nature Park.
