District House of Officers Park

About

The city's oldest park The park stretches right in the city center. It's a favorite place for walks among locals and visitors to the capital of Zabaykalye. Here you will find fountains, gazebos, amusement rides, and children’s playgrounds. As you stroll through the park, you will see several sculptural compositions: the “Zhdun” figure, “Yoshkin Cat,” “Behemoth the Cat,” and others. You may also be interested in the exhibition of military-historical equipment from the 1930s–1940s, “Alley of Glory". Another highlight is the unusual recreation area loved by newlyweds — the “Treasure Island,” complete with a pond with fish, a small bridge, and a “reconciliation bench.”
