About
Included in the UNESCO world heritage list The Lena Pillars are an elongated ridge of vertical cliffs along the banks of the Lena River. Their length is over 40 kilometers, and their height is about 200 meters. These stone giants formed over 500 million years ago. The Lena River is one of the ten greatest rivers in the world, the longest of Russian rivers, and the most water-abundant of Siberian rivers. It is one of the main transport routes of Yakutia, and its beauty is certainly worth admiring. In summer, you can participate in rafting on kayaks or rubber boats along the Lena's right tributary – the Buotama River. On the Buotama, you can also find fossils from the Early Cambrian period, approximately 542 million years old.
