The main street of Vologda. It runs exactly along the line where the eastern wall of the very first city Kremlin, built by Ivan the Terrible, once stood. Here you will find many architectural monuments from the 18th–20th centuries — the trading arcades, the Fair House, and other historic buildings. Every house on this street holds memories of the times when this was the bustling commercial heart of merchant Vologda.
