About
A symbol of memory and respect The central object of the complex is a T-34 tank on a five-meter pedestal. It was installed in honor of the Soviet soldiers who liberated the Russian lands of South Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. Behind the tank you will find a semicircular colonnade with the main entrance to the museum. The exhibits include documents, photographs and personal belongings of soldiers from the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–1905 and the Great Patriotic War. To create an immersive wartime atmosphere, the museum uses multimedia screens, sound and video materials. Visitors can also try operating a T-90 tank; a training classroom with three simulators is available. The entire accessibility infrastructure has been carefully planned. The site offers parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities, a separate entrance for wheelchair users, convenient ramps, accessible restrooms, lifts, call buttons for assistance, and wide doorways between exhibition halls. For visitors with visual impairments, tactile maps and signage are provided throughout the museum. Wheelchairs and stair climbers are available to help guests navigate the premises.
