A symbol of the courage and valor of Soviet soldiers House No. 39 on Sovetskaya Street is located in the very center of Volgograd. It went down in history as the famous Pavlov’s House. Fifty-eight days of continuous defense turned it into an impregnable fortress. When the sounds of battle faded, the house of Senior Sergeant Pavlov became the first building to be restored in Stalingrad. On one of its walls is inscribed the famous phrase: “We will rebuild you, Stalingrad!”
