About
One of the oldest Russian lighthouses in the Far East and a symbol of the city. It is located on the eponymous cape, at the tip of a sandbank — known as a "cat" in navigation, which runs parallel to the shore and is exposed during low tide. In this part of the Eastern Bosphorus Strait, strong tidal currents and shallow depths exist, but thanks to the presence of the lighthouse, ships can safely navigate through the area.
