Vladivostok Funicular

About

A must-see stop during your visit to Vladivostok. The funicular offers the best views of the city from above. The ride lasts only a minute and a half. Interestingly, locals use the funicular as public transport to avoid climbing the 368 steps of the nearby staircase. The idea of building the funicular came to Nikita Khrushchev after a trip to America. The politician wanted to turn Vladivostok into "the second San Francisco."
