About

Russia’s first volcano museum — “Vulkanarium” The museum was founded by volcanologist and mathematician Sergey Samoylenko and his wife, cultural expert Alena Samoylenko. It’s not just a collection of artifacts but a center for popularizing science about volcanoes and Earth. The history of volcano research and the knowledge about unique natural processes are presented interactively. You’ll visit a lava cave, touch ancient stones, and observe volcanic gases. After an exciting tour, you can have a snack at the café and buy souvenirs at the local shop: for example, a lava bracelet, an ancient shark tooth, or an ammonite pendant. Pre-registration required
