About
This is Russia's main museum dedicated to the history of ocean exploration and nature. Its exhibitions include ships that are preserved as museum objects. The ships are docked along the only historical fleet embankment in the country. Among them is the famous "Vityaz," which belonged to the USSR Academy of Sciences and participated in more than 60 expeditions, covering 800,000 miles and visiting dozens of ports in 50 countries across five continents. In the main museum building, you can admire magnificent marine aquariums with unique underwater worlds, examine collections of mollusk shells and corals, and study geological and paleontological specimens. There's also a lighthouse with a Fresnel lens capable of transmitting light signals over long distances.
