Tokarevsky Lighthouse

Tokarevsky Lighthouse is one of the oldest Russian lighthouses in the Far East, a symbol of Vladivostok, and one of the city’s must-see landmarks included in most sightseeing routes. The lighthouse stands on the cape of the same name, at the tip of a narrow sand spit known in Russian navigation as a koshka — a sandbank running parallel to the shore and revealed at low tide. This part of the Eastern Bosphorus Strait is known for strong tidal currents and shallow waters. Thanks to the lighthouse, vessels can safely pass through the area.

Nagorny Park

Nagorny Park is located on the summit of Tyumenskaya Sopka. At the foot of the hill, walking paths, a pond, benches, viewing balconies, and a stage have been arranged. The park also has parking, a children’s playground, and a food court area. At the top, visitors will find several observation decks, walking paths, cafés, and tiered seating where they can admire Golden Horn Bay and panoramic views of Vladivostok. The park is especially beautiful at sunrise and sunset. For dinner, we recommend trying the fresh local seafood.

Golden Bridge

Golden Bridge is a bridge across Golden Horn Bay and one of Vladivostok’s most recognizable landmarks. It connects two parts of the city separated by the bay. Like Russky Bridge, another iconic structure in Vladivostok, Golden Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge.

Russky Bridge

The giant cable-stayed Russky Bridge crosses the Eastern Bosphorus Strait and is one of Vladivostok’s three landmark bridges, notable for several record-breaking engineering features. Its main span is 1,104 meters long, making it one of the longest cable-stayed bridge spans in the world. The pylons — the bridge supports — are also among the tallest in the world at 324 meters, while its cable stays are among the longest, reaching 580 meters.

Cape Tobizina

Cape Tobizina is the southernmost point of Russky Island in the waters of the Sea of Japan and one of the most scenic locations around Vladivostok. The cape was named after Ivan Romanovich Tobizin, a vice admiral and commander of the port of Revel. Take a walk along the trail leading to the cape. The path runs along the very edge of cliffs hanging over the sea, and every hill, turn, and bend along the way becomes a perfect photo stop. On a clear day, you can see the outline of the coast and the endless line of the horizon. Many visitors come here especially to watch the sunrise or see the sun set over the sea. One of the most recognizable features of the cape is its flat stone slabs with geometric patterns that look like a chessboard or a giant puzzle. There is also a spacious beach near the cape, popular with visitors who come to sunbathe and swim on warm days.

Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre

An opera and ballet stage in the Russian Far East. The theatre has its own symphony orchestra, choir, ballet company, and opera troupe. It includes three performance venues: the Grand Hall, the Small Hall, and the Summer Stage. Please check the current schedule on the theatre’s official website in advance. If performances are not available during the theatre’s holiday period, we recommend spending more time on Russky Island and visiting the following locations.

Novosiltsevskaya Battery

Novosiltsevskaya Battery is one of the defensive structures of the Vladivostok Fortress, built in 1888 according to a design by Edmund Goppen to protect the Eastern Bosphorus Strait. Today, the battery is part of the Vladivostok Fortress Museum-Reserve. From the battery grounds, visitors can enjoy striking views of Vladivostok, the majestic Russky Bridge, and the waters of the Eastern Bosphorus Strait.

Primorsky Safari Park

The park has four zones: the hoofed animal park with deer, roe deer, wild boar piglets, and rabbits; the tiger park; the leopard park; and the bear park. Visitors can observe the animals without bars — bridges have been installed throughout the park for viewing. Among the rare animals living here are red wolves, a species the park is helping to preserve.

Putyatin Island

Putyatin Island is located in Strelok Bay, in the southern part of Primorsky Krai, near the settlement of Dunay. The island is named after Yevfimy Putyatin, a Russian admiral, diplomat, and statesman. Its scenic coastline is known for striking rock formations, including the Rooster, Elephant, and Dragon rocks, as well as the Five Fingers sea stacks. We recommend going ashore on the island, taking a walk, and having a picnic in Marble Bay.

Marble Bay

The bay takes its name from the pale rocks surrounding it, whose white shade resembles marble. Along the shore, you can find both white and colorful stones. Among the marble-like cliffs, there is a passage leading into a small grotto — a beautiful place for atmospheric photos.

Millionka is one of Vladivostok’s historic quarters and a fascinating place for photography. Here you can find arches, balconies, winding passages, ornate metalwork, and enclosed courtyards. According to local legend, an entire underground city once existed beneath these courtyards, with secret passages and labyrinths.

Fort No. 1 of the Northern Defense Section of the Vladivostok Fortress

Fort No. 1, also known as the Fort of Tsar Mikhail Fyodorovich, was designed by engineer Konstantin Kudryavtsev. It is one of the first structures of the 1910 Vladivostok Fortress project, implemented after the Russo-Japanese War. The fort is located on Hill 90 of Mount Kudryavtseva, north of Gornostay Bay. From the east, north, and west, the fort is surrounded by concrete defensive ditches. Inside the ditches are special firing structures with round embrasures, designed to control the lines of approach. For the visit, wear comfortable sports shoes or closed walking shoes.
