"Blonye" Garden

About

Laid out by order of Emperor Nicholas I in 1830. Legend has it that the first to begin work on the new green space was Governor Nikolai Khmelnitsky. His example inspired townspeople—especially young ladies—who diligently planted flowerbeds to beautify the park and (as the story goes) catch the eye of the eligible dignitary.
