Bryanchaninov Estate

About

A restored estate of an old noble family. This elegant two-story classical-style house with a mezzanine was built in the early 19th century. The charm of the building is enhanced by stucco decorations on the facades — helmets, banners, pikes, and horse heads, recalling the military merits of the Bryanchaninov family. In the past, the estate was a cultural hub: it hosted literary and musical evenings, housed workshops, and even had a menagerie. Now the restored rooms contain exhibitions, and next to the house stands the family Church of the Intercession. Also worth noting is the old linden park with eight alleys forming a star — one of the few surviving examples of Russian landscape art.
