About

A seasonal project featuring three exhibitions in the garden of the A. S. Pushkin State Museum. At the Garden Pavilion, you will see Russian wooden toys from a private collection and trace the evolution of wooden figurines from ritual dolls to children's toys. You will also discover how toys from the Arkhangelsk and Vologda regions differed from those made in Sergiev Posad and Bogorodsk. Immerse yourself in Russia's multicultural heritage and discover the crafts, art, clothing, and other objects representing the country's diverse ethnic groups. As you stroll through the museum garden, you will learn about the plants growing here and discover the role each species played in 19th-century aristocratic life and culture.
