One of the largest open-air museums in Russia From the Petrozavodsk pier, in summer, boats called "Komety" transport visitors to Kizhi Island, while in winter, hovercrafts cross the ice. One of the most famous landmarks is the wooden Transfiguration Church with 22 domes, which is said to have been built "without a single nail."
