A small town one hour from Kostroma Here, merchant houses from the 19th century, old churches, and the “sock-shaped house” with a rounded façade have been preserved. In the “Tkatsky Dvor” park there are tactile models of churches and monuments to merchants who made the town a center of the linen industry. There are also unusual museums, including the Museum of Dreams of the First Aeronauts, the Shepherd’s House, and the Moroz-Master’s Factory (Lavrovskaya painted toy factory), where visitors learn to paint toys.
