About
Chita’s Main Post Office The building was constructed in 1893 to a design by architect M. Yu. Arnold. This two-story building is considered a unique example of Russian architecture among the preserved architectural landmarks of Siberia. The central part of the structure is wooden and is topped with a tent-roof tower. Two symmetrical side wings with stone vestibules were added on either side. The facades of the wooden part are painted bright yellow, while the brick vestibule walls are pink. A post office still operates here today. The building makes a beautiful backdrop for photos.
