Shchelykovo Estate

About

Walk through Ostrovsky’s favorite places Shchelykovo is an estate where Alexander Ostrovsky spent every summer, wrote his plays, including “The Snow Maiden”. Here, the playwright’s house with authentic interiors, the 18th-century Nikolskaya Church, and the park he loved to walk in have been preserved. Museums operate in the reserve, and theatrical programs, quests, and festivities are held. In summer you can have tea in the garden, and in winter — meet the Snegurochka and join traditional folk games.
