About
The S-56 submarine was the most successful vessel of the Soviet Navy during the Great Patriotic War. In just one and a half years, its crew carried out eight combat patrols and twelve torpedo attacks, sinking and rendering inoperative 14 enemy ships. Inside the S-56, there are panels that tell the history of the Pacific Fleet. The exhibition includes photographs, documents, medals, naval uniforms, and a miniature model of the submarine. All sections are open for viewing, including the torpedo compartment, where visitors can look into the periscope and even sit on a sailor's bunk.
