Dedicated to the history of Novosibirsk’s development The city became a major metropolis thanks to the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway. In memory of this, a 13-meter monument to Emperor Alexander III — the ruler who initiated the project — stands near the bridge. Come here at sunset: it’s especially beautiful at this time of day. Along the alley for newlyweds, you can see rows of padlocks left by young couples. According to tradition, on their wedding day, newlyweds attach a “lock of happiness” and throw the keys far into the river.
