About
A cultural heritage site of federal significance. The monument depicts a full-length figure of a steelworker. The sculpture was originally created as part of the “Worker and Collective Farm Woman” composition for the USSR Pavilion at the 1958 World’s Fair in Brussels. Later, the “Worker” became part of various USSR Pavilion compositions at international exhibitions in New York and Vienna. Today, “The Steelworker” welcomes visitors arriving in Magnitogorsk by train.
