About

The Only Geyser Field in Eurasia The Valley of Geysers is considered one of the most impressive natural landmarks not only in Kamchatka, but in the entire country — and even the world. It is a canyon (gorge) up to 4 kilometers wide and 8 kilometers long, about 400 meters deep, through which the Geyzernaya River flows. There are dozens of similar canyons in Kamchatka, but along a 6-kilometer stretch from the river’s mouth, about 60 geysers and numerous thermal springs are concentrated here. This astonishing natural phenomenon constantly changes its appearance while remaining one of the most beautiful manifestations of the planet’s geological activity. During a walk through this amazing place, you will see several natural fountains that shoot hot steam and water into the air, bubbling mud pots, and the famous geyser wall called Vitrage, surrounded by clouds of steam. The Valley of Geysers can be reached by helicopter. Such tours are organized from mid-June to the end of September. It is important to remember that flights depend on weather conditions, which in Kamchatka are changeable and unpredictable, so it is not recommended to schedule the tour for the final days of your trip. It is better to allow at least 2–3 extra days in case the flight needs to be rescheduled.
