About
The heart of historic Vologda. The Vologda Kremlin is a unique architectural ensemble that unites buildings from three centuries. The central courtyard is surrounded by historic structures, and from the bell tower there is a breathtaking view of the city. Next to the Kremlin lies an old garden — an ideal place to continue a leisurely walk among centuries-old linden trees. On the grounds is the Bishops’ Court — behind its high walls are chambers from the 17th–18th centuries, among which the ornate Symonovsky Building with its rich décor and the baroque Josephovsky Building, once home to Vologda’s bishops, are especially notable.
