Yrystu and Alyonushka Spring

About

A source of crystal-clear water and one of the city's cultural landmarks A popular spot in the heart of the city, this natural spring is known for its fresh, mineral-rich drinking water. Next to the spring stands a marble sculpture depicting the Altai boy Yrystu playing the komus (a traditional Altai jaw harp) alongside the Russian fairy-tale character Alyonushka with her brother Ivanushka. The monument symbolizes the friendship and unity between the Altai and Russian peoples. In the evening, the area is beautifully illuminated.
