Yalta

"Skazka" consists of separate terraces on a mountainside, each offering new encounters: tigers and goats, lions and ornamental chickens, peacocks and miniature pigs. Over 600 animals—from familiar to exotic. The monkeys, as always, steal the show: noisy, teasing, posing.

The plateau is located in the western part of the Crimean Mountains' Main Range and includes several peaks. The highest point is Mount Roka at 1,349 meters, while the most popular is Mount Ai-Petri (1,234 meters), towering over Alupka and Koreiz. The slopes feature caves such as Trekhglazka, Geofizicheskaya, and Yalta. The iconic Ai-Petri "teeth" consist of four large and several smaller outcrops along the ridge.

The cathedral rises in the very center of Yalta. Complex, multi-domed, and adorned with arches and mosaics, it resembles 17th-century Moscow churches. Its architecture combines Russian austerity with vibrant Byzantine painting.

Yalta offers pebble beaches, warm water, and rare cloudy days. The swimming season runs from May to October, with sea temperatures reaching +27°C in July–August. The air smells of pine and salt, and the mountains shield the coast from strong winds.

From a height of 138 meters, you can see all of Yalta. Below lies the port, houses cascade down the slopes, and the sea glitters in the distance. At the summit, there’s a viewing platform with a panorama that’s stunning both in daylight and under the electric glow of city lights after sunset.

This park is one of the greenest corners of Yalta. It stretches along the shore from the "Oreanda" Hotel and covers a vast area.

The main promenade of Yalta stretches along the shore. It's always crowded here: some people photograph the waves, others pick out souvenir magnets, and some go fishing. The space is designed for leisure—a wide pedestrian zone, palm trees, benches, and flowers.

This architectural masterpiece from the early 20th century was designed by architect Nikolai Krasnov. The palace was built in just 17 months and became the last structure erected in the Russian Empire for the Romanov family. In 1945, it hosted the Yalta Conference with leaders of the anti-Hitler coalition.

This beach is considered one of the best in Crimea in terms of service and has repeatedly been awarded the prestigious international "Blue Flag" certification.

If you want photos straight out of a European fairy tale, this is the place. The walls are built of stone, the towers are pointed, the balconies are curved, and the park looks like it’s from an engraving. The interiors are tastefully opulent: stucco, wood, fireplaces, tiles, oak paneling, and tiled stoves.

Those ready for physical activity will find nearly 20 hiking routes of varying difficulty levels around Yalta. All trails pass through the reserve and reveal rare landscapes: misty forests, rocky ridges, and sea views from above.

This museum houses true rarities: custom-built vehicles, muscle cars, vintage trucks, and even a Formula 1 race car. All vehicles are operational, and each has an interesting backstory. One exhibit was assembled from parts of a ZIL, Chevrolet, and Tahoe. Another is a replica of Sebastian Vettel's sports car.

The garden was founded in 1812. Today it houses the largest collection of trees and shrubs - over 2,000 species. Visitors can explore the Upper and Lower Parks, which are combined into the Arboretum.

In a forest near Yalta live characters from Russian folk tales: a knight and Zmey Gorynych, Baba Yaga and the Frog Princess, charming cats, hedgehogs, and wood goblins. The sculptures are placed among the trees, and the paths lead through stories familiar from childhood.

This small urban park is located near the "Spartak" cinema and Marshak Square. The pathways are smooth, the lighting is new, and modern playgrounds and exercise equipment are installed throughout. There are benches, plenty of greenery, and well-maintained flower beds.

This less-than-a-kilometer-long street connects the embankment with the "Spartak" cinema. It's a pedestrian zone that's pleasant to walk along both in the morning and evening. On the right side—houses, on the left—a small river. The alley is lined with chestnut trees, with benches and lanterns in the middle. Closer to the sea—a magnificent gazebo with columns and wrought-iron details.

The most recognizable symbol of Crimea. This castle-like palace towers atop the 40-meter-high Aurora Cliff. It acquired its current appearance in 1912 thanks to architect Alexander Sherwood. To reach it, you'll need to conquer 1,200 steps—first down, then up. At the end awaits not just the castle but also a breathtaking coastal panorama: from here, you'll see Yalta, Sail Rock, and Mount Ayu-Dag.

The palace was built in the first half of the 19th century for Count Mikhail Vorontsov, governor-general of the Novorossiysk region. The northern facade of the palace is designed in Tudor style, while the southern terrace, "guarded" by marble lions, incorporates elements of Eastern architecture.

Just 12 minutes—and you're soaring above the city. The cable car, opened in 1967, starts on the embankment near the "Tavrida" Hotel and leads to Darsan Hill.
