Another recognizable type of décor with a unique story. This kind of pottery is made in the small mountain village of Balkhar. Traditionally, only women made ceramics. However, in 1990, when the craft was on the brink of extinction, it was revived by a male artist who broke the taboo and began creating ceramics alongside the women. You can bring back beautiful jugs, donkey figurines, and traditional clay whistles.
