Sabantuy

A joyful celebration marking the end of spring sowing. Sabantuy is one of the most beloved festivals in Tatarstan. It is celebrated after the spring sowing season is completed. The festival is filled with lively music, traditional Tatar cuisine, and a joyful atmosphere. Visitors can take part in traditional games, walk across narrow logs, race with a spoon carrying an egg, and watch traditional “koresh” belt wrestling competitions. This year, Sabantuy in Kazan will take place at three venues: the Lebyazhye Lake forest park area, Derbyshki, and the birch grove in the Mirny settlement.
