About

The Vyksa Festival is a major annual event that brings contemporary culture into the life of a modern Russian city. The festival program spans theater, music, contemporary art, street art, and public art, all woven into the urban environment and actively engaging local residents. One of the festival’s defining features is that the people of Vyksa become not only spectators, but also participants and an essential part of the festival itself. Another distinctive feature of the Vyksa Festival is its unique site-specific projects created especially for the city: unexpected collaborations, world premieres, artworks, and performances integrated into the urban space. The festival not only transforms the city, but also carefully preserves its established way of life. Many events are inspired by Vyksa’s traditions and local identity. The mission of the festival is to help Vyksa become a city that values its history while confidently looking toward the future.
