About
The showcase of Kostroma The embankment is the best place to feel the scale of the Volga River. Walk to the river, face the wind, and watch the huge cruise ships approach the pier. Your attention will be drawn to the long 1206-meter bridge over the river, connecting the two parts of the city. The snow-white Ostrovsky gazebo seems to float above the cliff — light and solemn, it resembles the noble park pavilions of the 19th century. A little further, there is a monument to Vladimir Lenin on a pedestal, where once stood the monument to the Romanovs. In the evenings, the embankment turns into an outdoor theater: the sunset spreads crimson colors across the water, and all of Kostroma seems to freeze, admiring this spectacle.
